Product introduction: Multivitamin powder for children

Allvital Multivitamin Powder combines 14 vitamins with 7 minerals and trace elements in a flexibly dosed powder form. The formula was developed especially for children and supports needs-based micronutrient intake during growth.

Micronutrient supply in childhood

Children are in a phase of life characterized by intensive growth and development processes. Bones and muscles grow, the nervous system matures, and the immune system is continuously challenged. In addition to an adequate supply of energy and protein, the body requires numerous vitamins, minerals and trace elements for these processes.

The basis of nutrient supply should always be a diet that is as varied as possible, including vegetables and fruit, whole grain products, high-quality protein sources and healthy fats. In practice, however, this is not equally easy to achieve for every child. Younger children in particular often go through phases of pronounced food selectivity. Certain food groups may then be avoided for longer periods or consumed only in small amounts, which can result in micronutrient deficiencies.

A comprehensive supplement that covers a broad spectrum of micronutrients can therefore be an important addition that can be adapted to the requirements of the respective stage of life.

Why was multivitamin powder developed?

Multivitamin Powder was developed to support a high-quality and safe, individually adaptable and at the same time uncomplicated supply of micronutrients for children and adolescents.

The formula contains 14 vitamins as well as 7 minerals and trace elements. These include all eight B vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin D3, vitamin E, vitamin K1 and K2, as well as beta-carotene as a precursor of vitamin A. The formula is complemented by calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, iodine, manganese and chromium.

Particular attention was paid to practical use. Unlike capsules or tablets, the powder can be dosed according to body weight and easily mixed into drinks, yogurt, smoothies or other foods. This makes it easier to use, particularly for younger children or children who do not want to swallow capsules.

No added table sugar or artificial colors, flavors or preservatives are used. Stevia extract provides a mild sweetness. A small amount of naturally occurring sugar comes from the included orange fruit powder, which also improves the taste. The product is vegan as well as gluten- and lactose-free.

Which ingredients are included?

Two measuring scoops of Multivitamin Powder contain:

A closer look at the ingredients

The formula is a comprehensive combination supplement for daily basic micronutrient supply, tailored to the special needs of children.

Calcium and vitamin D: important for growing bones

The skeleton continues to develop throughout childhood and adolescence. A large proportion of the bone mass reached later in life is already built up during these stages of life.

Calcium is the most abundant mineral in bone. Vitamin D, in turn, plays an essential role in regulating calcium metabolism and supports the absorption of calcium in the intestine. Calcium and vitamin D are therefore two key micronutrients for growth and normal bone development in children.

In addition, vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system and has a role in the process of cell division. In addition to diet, individual vitamin D status depends largely on the body's own production in the skin through UV-B radiation. Season, time spent outdoors, skin type and sun protection influence this synthesis. Particularly during the darker months of the year, many people are affected by vitamin D deficiency.

Iron: relevant for cognitive development

Iron is a component of numerous proteins and enzymes and is important, among other things, for oxygen transport and energy metabolism. Particular attention should be paid to iron supply during childhood, as iron is also important for cognitive development.

Iodine: important for growth and thyroid function

Iodine is required for the production of thyroid hormones and for thyroid function. Thyroid hormones regulate numerous metabolic processes and also play an important role during growth and development.

The most important sources of iodine include sea fish, dairy products and iodized table salt. Depending on dietary habits, intake through food may not be sufficient.

B vitamins: metabolism, nervous system and energy

Multivitamin Powder contains all eight B vitamins: vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12 as well as biotin and folic acid.

B vitamins are cofactors in numerous enzymatic reactions and play an important role particularly in energy and cellular metabolism. Vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, B12 and biotin, for example, contribute to the normal function of the nervous system. Various B vitamins also support normal energy metabolism.

Folate also has an important role in cell division. Especially in a growing organism with high levels of cell division activity, it is therefore one of the fundamental micronutrients.

Vitamin B12 deserves particular attention in predominantly or completely plant-based diets, as relevant natural sources are almost exclusively of animal origin.

Vitamin C, vitamin E and zinc: cell protection and immune system

Vitamin C performs numerous functions in the body. Among other things, it contributes to the normal function of the immune system, supports healthy energy metabolism and improves iron absorption.

In addition, vitamin C and vitamin E protect cells from oxidative stress. They act in different areas: vitamin C is water-soluble, while fat-soluble vitamin E is particularly important for protecting lipid-rich cellular structures. Vitamin C can also regenerate used vitamin E.

Zinc also performs numerous functions. The trace element is required for the function of many enzymes and contributes, among other things, to the normal function of the immune system, normal DNA synthesis and the maintenance of normal bones.

Beta-carotene instead of preformed vitamin A

Multivitamin Powder contains beta-carotene as provitamin A. Beta-carotene is a natural plant pigment and can be converted into vitamin A by the body when needed.

Vitamin A plays a role, among other things, in normal iron metabolism, immune system function, the maintenance of healthy mucous membranes and vision.

Vitamin K1 and K2: bones and blood clotting

The supplement combines vitamin K1 with vitamin K2 in the form of menaquinone-7 (MK-7). Vitamin K is particularly relevant for normal blood clotting and the maintenance of normal bones. It acts synergistically with vitamin D3.

Vitamin K1 occurs naturally mainly in green leafy vegetables. Vitamin K2 is found, among other things, in fermented foods and is also produced to a certain extent by intestinal bacteria.

Magnesium, manganese and chromium as complementary minerals

Magnesium is a cofactor in numerous enzymatic reactions and contributes, among other things, to normal energy metabolism, normal muscle function and the normal function of the nervous system. In addition, magnesium is important for bone health.

Manganese contributes, among other things, to the maintenance of normal bones and the normal formation of connective tissue. Chromium contributes to the maintenance of healthy blood glucose levels and macronutrient metabolism.

Which children may particularly benefit from multivitamin powder?

Multivitamin Powder can be used as a long-term or temporary supplement to a generally balanced diet. The supplement is particularly suitable for children,

  • whose diet is very selective and lacking in variety over an extended period,
  • who avoid certain food groups,
  • for whom optimal daily nutrition cannot always be achieved in everyday family life,
  • who cannot or do not want to take capsules or tablets,
  • or for whom an uncomplicated basic supply of various micronutrients is desired.

The powder form can also be an alternative for adults who have difficulty swallowing capsules. For adults, we otherwise recommend the capsule supplements Multivitamin Basic or Multivitamin Booster for basic micronutrient supply.

How should multivitamin powder be taken?

The dosage is based on body weight: 1 measuring scoop containing approximately 1 g of powder per 8 kg of body weight daily. A child weighing 32 kg therefore receives, for example, four measuring scoops per day. The powder can be mixed into water, juice, a smoothie, yogurt or other foods.

For long-term use, micronutrient status should be assessed through laboratory testing. This enables needs-based supplementation, as individual requirements can vary due to numerous factors such as diet, physical growth or current stress factors.
